Verde Valley Leadership Class IV Legacy Project

Dear Community Member,

In times like these, our community has become closer and more dependent upon one another than ever before. With reduced budgets and more conscious spending, some are forgotten in the mix- the mentally ill.

This year, Verde Valley Leadership’s Class IV is focusing efforts on a Legacy Project in the Verde Valley which is sure to make a difference. The Class is working with the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic to assist their Woman’s World Program. For additional information about Verde Valley Leadership (VVL) please visit: www.vvleadership.org.

The Woman’s World Program offered at the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic serves women with co-occurring disorders. Their program treats women who are seriously mentally ill and also suffer from addiction. Their program takes a whole person approach to treatment. They teach the women to work together, learn to accept themselves and others for who they are and what they are suffering, as well as provide them with the tools to enter into the community and lead a productive life.

This is where your help is needed. Instead of the standard request for a donation, Class IV of VVL is inviting you to make a difference in a woman’s life by providing necessities often taken for granted. Class IV is collecting the following items to be used in their facility:

  • (24) Twin sheet sets
  • (24) Twin mattress covers/protectors
  • (24) Standard pillow cases
  • Art supplies, used in rehabilitation, to include: canvases, paints, scrapbook materials, paint by number kits, knitting supplies, paint brushes, sketch pads, colored pencils
  • Personal care items to include: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, feminine products, combs & brushes
  • Bath towels
  • Curtains
  • Barbecue Grill
  • Cash donations in any amount to assist in the purchasing of the above items.

The class has an ambitious goal of collecting all of these items by May 27, 2011. Then, Class IV of VVL will compile all of the donated or purchased items and present them to the Woman’s World Program and hang a plaque at the Verde Valley Guidance Clinic with the names of the donors and information about this Legacy Project.

Your in-kind or monetary contribution will be tax deductible since VVL is a 501(c) (3). If you would like to provide any of the above items or need additional information please contact Heather Hermen, Board Member of VVL, at 928-202-2374, or Class IV graduate Rebecca Hernandez at 928-639-0020. Drop off locations are located at: Country Bank, 597 E. State Route 89A, Cottonwood, Rebecca Hernandez 928-639-0020 or Lawyers Title of Arizona, 1756 E. Villa Drive, Ste. A, Cottonwood, Shannon Westcott 928-634-3500.

Thank you for joining Verde Valley Leadership in this Legacy Project which is sure to impact the lives of many women and the vital Woman’s World Program. Together we can make a difference!

Sincerely,

Verde Valley Leadership

Class IV
